This is an explanation for a commission offer to any musician who may be a good fit for the aesthetic goals of my IP. (Intellectual Property)
What I'm looking for: A minute or two of music that would work as a tone-setting piece that could be the cornerstone for future musical development. Think of the opening to Game Of Thrones or Lord Of The Rings. I've got a rough animatic of the opening scene/logo that I'd want to match the beginning of the music to.
Main Theme / Intro
The goal is to create an instantly recognizable, hummable theme. Something that can be built off of for future projects like TV, Film, Audio Books and Games.
Tone ~
Mysterious in a magical, adventurous and majestic way. Not a creepy way. Not a quizzical way. I want people to feel drawn to enter and explore a new exotic world.
Preferred primary instruments ~
Strings, harp, bells, kettle drum, wood winds, choir (But I’m open to anything if it can accomplish the goals)
Things to avoid ~
Orientalism and/or overt culture-specific signifiers. Use of instruments or arrangements/styles from the Middle East and Asia are fine and even desirable, but the result should not make the piece feel like the world of Talifar is a proxy for any particular place on Earth. This is a fine line, and I acknowledge it’s challenging to walk it well.
Movements ~
Ideally the introduction can align with the intro animation. (This may not be possible to do well, so if the timing of the animation needs to be adjusted to meet the goals then I can do that.) The emotions/ideas I’d like to evoke are:
Beautiful/peaceful (Seconds 1-7. Seeing the sky through a forest canopy by a small waterfall in a grotto)
Epic Exhalation/Escalation. (Seconds 8-16. A world breathed into being by a powerful entity)
Curiosity/Mystery. (Seconds 17-20. What am I seeing behind that beautiful waterfall? I can’t quite make it out.)
Grand Reveal. (Seconds 21-25. The water parts, I see a stone door with an inset glass globe and the word Talifar carved in gold.)
The rush of taking the plunge. (Seconds 25-30. The doors swing open and I fly into a candle-lit tunnel)
Settle into the groove. (Seconds 30-60. I am ushered into the creation cave/workshop and met by Josh who invites me to join him for his project of the week. The main musical motif takes its final form, resolving into a trance-like repetition that can fade out or blend into an ambient bed.

Full song here. Note the repetitive arpeggio(?) riff, build up, and layers. I like all that stuff.

Other music pieces I'd like to commission:
Ambience ~
The goal is create a more sparse palette utilizing the same key, style, etc. as the Main Theme, that can work as a bed or transition from the Main Theme into body of the video, or a transition from the body to the End.

Theme Music End Sting ~
The goal is to have a variation of the Main Theme that ends with an exclamation point!
